China Geo-Engineering Corporation (CGC) was established in 1982 with the approval of the State Council of the People’s Republic of China and officially registered with a registered capital of 228 million RMB in the State Administration for Industry and Commerce. As one of the 166 state-owned enterprises under the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council (SASAC), it bases its head office in Beijing, the Capital of China, with about 30 overseas branches in Asia and Africa, and more than 20 subsidiaries and affiliate companies at home.
The Corporation is granted a variety of commercial licenses, including Foreign Economic Cooperation, Labors export, Import & Export and Geological Prospecting, and a number of high grade qualifications ,such as Grade A for Housing, Road and Bridge Construction, Ground and Foundation, Hydro-Power and Hydra-water Construction, Geological Hazard Prevention and Treatment, Geological Exploration and Prospecting , Engineering Design and Consultancy, etc. Moreover, the Corporation has been awarded respectively the ISO9001 certificate on quality management system, ISO14001 on environmental management system, and the UKAS certificate.
The main lines of business consist of EPC-related construction of industrial, energy, transportation and municipal works; civil engineering projects via international competitive bidding at home and abroad; import and export of plants, equipment and materials to be incorporated in the awarded projects; execution of foreign economic aid projects on behalf of the central government; dispatching professionals, serviceman (excluding seaman) and labor in the form of service export; geo-engineering projects such as underground structure project, municipal works such as water supply and drainage works as well as flood control with their associated facilities, and environmental protection works such as treatment on waste water, hazardous gas and solid waste; interior decoration projects; funding and conducting geological prospecting, geo-mining investigation and geological appraisal (excluding oil and natural gas); conducting or acting as agent for import and export of commodities and technologies other than the 16 types controlled by the State and 14 others requiring special government grants; entertaining businesses via OEM, counter-trade and entrepot trade; and real estate development and management
CGC owns substantial professional talents and a gifted staff in civil and mechanical engineering fields, 80% of whom are technical specialists, holding medium and senior professional titles, and possesses multitude of construction plants and equipment at home and abroad. Since its establishment, the Corporation has been plunging into the fierce competition in domestic and overseas construction markets, and has distinguished itself for its sincerity with the commitment, quality of the works and efficiency in performance. In the international construction arena, it has successfully completed hundreds of projects in 60 odd countries, winning high appreciation from the related international financers, clients, governments and people.
